Words from the Wise
If there’s one thing newly married women today agree on, it’s that future brides should have their weddings videotaped. This is according to a new, one-of-a-kind nationwide survey, commissioned by WEVA (Wedding & Event Videographers Association) and conducted in March 2008, which asked women married in 2007 to weigh in on the value of wedding videos. The results of the survey show:
*98 percent of newlyweds recommend brides have their wedding videotaped (DVD's).
*Brides don’t appreciate the value of video until after the wedding: before the wedding, 52 percent of brides consider wedding a “Top 10” service; after the wedding, 75 percent of brides consider video a “Top 10” service.
*38 percent of brides did not have their wedding videotaped by anyone.
*68 percent now either somewhat or strongly recommend that future brides hire a professional videographer.
*98 percent of brides surveyed used the services of a professional photographer.
*29 percent of brides surveyed used the services of a professional videographer.
Those who used both agreed that video does a better job of
1) capturing the emotions of the day
2) recording the history of the day
3) creating a visual memory that future children will enjoy more.
When asked, “If you had a choice between looking at your grandparent’s wedding photos or their wedding video, which would you choose?”
61 percent of brides said they would rather see the Video.
We Shoot exclusively in Hi-Def - Wondering what the difference is between HD video and standard resolution video? The short story is: HD has over 4.5 times as much information as a regular DVD. We believe in giving people the best looking video possible. Even if you don't want your video put onto a Blu-ray disc, you're still benefitting from the improved image! When we edit an image down to DVD resolution we are starting from a higher resolution so you end up with a sharper image, more vibrant colors and an overall better image.
Bride’s Preparation - Begin your wedding video with a metrically timed romantic video montage of the bride preparing for this once in a lifetime moment.
Live Ceremony Coverage - includes: footage of the bride and wedding party getting ready, followed by the ceremony, and guests giving their congratulations to the couple.
Second Camera for Live Ceremony - to give additional angles of coverage. The second camera is set on a tripod in a fixed position focused on the couple while the first camera is operated by your videographer. In editing, the video will cut back and forth between the two cameras (this also helps if someone walks in front of one camera, we can cover it up in editing). ( + add extra $400)
Reception coverage - includes: all of the traditional events (cake cutting, bouquet toss, garter toss, exit of the bride and groom, etc.) as well as candid shots throughout the reception.
Video coverage of Bridal - We cover the photo shoot of the Bridal Portraits. This can be included into the main edited video or handled as a separate "movie" on the DVD, accessible through the menu.
Video coverage of Engagement photos - WeI cover the photo shoot of the Engagement Portraits. This can be included into the main edited video or handled as a separate "movie" on the DVD, accessible through the menu.
Your Love Story - Proclaim your love for each other with a short film that captures the essence of your love with style and humor… Your guests will take delight in this story played out on a large screen display, and it’s a grand way to start your reception dinner. This amusing vignette combines pictures, interviews, and music of your choice. Includes special effects. Your skillfully edited photomontage will smoothly transition into your love story music video and conclude with rolling credits. We will sit you down to tell everyone: how you met, your first date, first kiss, the proposal - anything you want! (but try to keep it under an hour). (add to any package for $100)
Special Out takes reel on DVD - weddings are a lot of fun, and we leave the camera rolling almost the entire time - but we have to cut most of the really funny stuff out, you can get the best out takes (and they include the original sound) handled as a separate "movie" on the DVD, accessible through the menu. (add to any package for $100)
Editing - every video is edited together with music of your choosing, the way you like it. The length of the finished video is determined by the songs you pick. Generally we recommend 7-10 minutes for each event (temple, reception, bridal, engagement, etc...) which is usually 2 or 3 songs. With a live ceremony you have the option of "Documentary" (easy cut video) or "Montage" editing ( + transitions, backgrounds, special effects etc).
Up to N x Picture photo montage slideshow - any pictures you want. These are normally used for the reception - you pick the photos you want and the songs you want (most people fill up 2 CDs). For an added bonus, hook the sound of the TV up to some larger speakers and you have a "Virtual D. J." Save a few of your photo allotment (or add extra, they're $1 a piece) so you can add photos from the wedding, reception and/or honeymoon. The Photo Montage Slideshow aren't your average reception slideshow of just one photo after another. We like to spice up your slideshow by panning, zooming, and slightly spinning your photos!
We need to know if you want any specific titles overlaying parts of your slideshow. You’ll have the opportunity to review the slideshow online and add them but it’s easier if I know what you’d like at the outset.
Copies of final DVD with custom menus - we put together each DVD with a custom menu so you can access all the different events from your wedding. Usually we work off one of the templates we own but I can also do something special if you want to show me what you want. If you want additional copies, they're just $2.
